Course description

Aims of the course: Using Design Thinking in user-centred processes

Course programme

  1. Design Thinking phases

    1. Phase 1: Inspiration - data collection with users;

    2. Phase 2: Ideation – requirements definition and prototyping;

    3. Phase 3: Implementation – full development of solutions including evaluation;

  2. Individual and group assignments using support software (e.g. NVivo, Excel);

Speaker/trainer

Rui Carreira is a collaborative new product-service (namely ICT based) systems’ development PhD Researcher involving users and other interested parties. He holds a PhD in Engineering Design and Advanced Manufacturing (2012) within the MIT – Portugal Program at the University of Porto. He is Coordinator of the degrees “Information Technology, Web and Multimedia” and “Multimedia Design and Digital Games” at Instituto Politécnico da Maia (IPMAIA).

Course fee and registration
